Extra staples. Would this book get a grade bump 0

Could the extra staples be removed and a grade bump received? This book presents very well.  

Any advice would be appreciated 

I will go pull grader notes and update 

 

I was told by the person I bought the boom from the extra staples are not actually performing a function other than looks. I assume the other ones must be rusty.

I would sell it as-is. It looks amazing, and staple removal could potentially do more harm than good.

You're gonna make about $3500 or so on this now, based on recent sales.

If it gets to 5.5, maybe you get another $1000. But it'll cost you a few hundred to get it CCS-ed and CGC-ed, plus a month's time... then you're into summer, where sales lag a bit.

Plus... wouldn't the holes left by the staples be a negative?

If you could go from a 5.0 to a 5.5 or 6.0 GUARANTEED... then heck, yeah.

But accounting for the risk... I'd sell it the way it is. JMHO. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Yes, the extra staple holes would still be there, and it's hard to see them as a positive...

You can have extra staples. Or you can remove the extra staples and have six tiny holes through the entire book.  99.9% of the time, the extra holes look noticeably worse than the extra staples.  Probably more likely to see the grade DROP from removing those extra staples. Not improve.
