PGM Headline Comics #8 - Classic Hitler Cover 0

[Phill the Governor]

Hi all,

Have a copy of Headline Comics #8 here. Published by Prize Publications back in the summer of 1944.

This copy suffers from insect damage and about 2/3 of the spine is split. The interior is nice, solid and complete with cream/ow pages.

The main image on the front cover still presents nicely! Whatcha thinking on technical grade? Thanks for the help!

Phil, you're on fire lately. Jeez! 

My guess is it's a 1.0/1.5 tweener, and if I HAD to pick one, going by strict CGC standards I'd guess 1.0. I'm thinking there's enough 'real estate' missing between the chipping and color erosion that it wouldn't quite make 1.5. Whichever it is it's a nice looker for the grade.

1.0. The cover damage is not bug chew but looks more consistent with moisture damage. Related questions about page quality (slightly brittle? rust from staples?) might knock it down.

1.0, with a small chance of 1.5, though fortunately, the main image wasn't snacked on much.

The cover damage is 100% bug chew.

Page quality is slightly cream, mostly ow. There is slight rust on the staple, but staple is clean at centerfold, no rust migration. At the current grade it has no bearing on the technical grade.

1.0 or 1.5 for sure..depends on how hard they hammer it. Nice cover image still.

I'd give it a 1.5 because that front cover image is so completely nightmare-inducing...but 1.0 is probably the correct grade...

I agree with 1.0, but wouldn't be surprised by a 1.5.
