So let's recap:

CGC doesn't change policy based on any one person's specific opinion (an argument which no one here made)

CGC is simply in it for the money (which all business' are, and another statement no one disagreed with)

CGC is free to change their own policy's (again - no one debated this)

The forum HAS influenced CGC in their actions before (It's happened - it's fact), but not on EVERYTHING they do (again, something that no one has made an argument for).

CGC is very aware of who their high volume submitters are and what their opinions are on hot button topics.

The goal post moving has already begun to try and save face, but really, the gist of this conversation really didn't have anything here to debate.

MODERATION: Please re-read this thread and understand, there are clearly people here who want to discuss topics relating to comic books and CGC and people who are here simply to stir up trouble and target individuals to stir that trouble. This thread is a perfect example.

Excellent summation, Chuck, as always.

Well good! As long as it makes sense to the ones who were having the discussion then :)

So if a grading company is for grading page quality, color breaks, staples and overall condition etc.,  to assess a collectible items' value, the content, graphic or not, should not matter. Are they grading the content too?[rhetorical question]

Some fairly graphic EC horror covers with decapitation etc out there that seem to have no issue being graded.

I can see them grading this particular comic and issuing a black mylar cover for the slab....perhaps a new "Adult Comics" section.

Maybe CGC just decided from the start they didn't want to subject their graders to having to see explicit images with penetration?

With something like Cherry if a grader notices a cover they can say they aren't comfortable looking through the book and hand it to somebody else.

But with a very graphic cover, it's hard to let that slip. i'm just speculating, but I'm sure there are valid points why CGC doesn't want to grade covers that have pornography.

What about if some grader is repulsed by Liefeld art-WHAT THEN???

In my experience the more hype a variant cover gets, the less I’m likely to actually enjoy the comic

They can take all the variant covers and dump em in a landfill will all the 90s foil nonsense, as far as I'm concerned.

I know this thread is about issue #1, however the past couple erotic variants have not had any visible penetration and should be eligible for CGC grading. Jenny Frison did a very lovely erotic variant for issue #4 that I expect will be a hot commodity at least for the foreseeable future.

That is the second print variant. The cover I sent in for grading was the first print. If the first print is a no-go then that cover you listed is probably no-go as well.

Too bad Stan is no longer with us. You could have had him sign the uncensored version, then they'd slab it for sure... :baiting:

I'd get John Byrne to sign it. Why not add an extra #$@% to the cover?
