After owning these books for over a decade, I've finally decided to sell them, along with my entire Detective Comics run (these are the only CGC'd books). I accept paypal and cash, that's it. As far as the Detective #6 is concerned, pm's only if interested in buying. Books will be mailed USPS priority, extremely secure between bubble wrap and cardboard (or whatever you choose) and will include insurance, as well as needing a signature. Feel free to pm or respond if you have any questions.

 

Just after Christmas 2006, I noticed this copy of Detective Comics #6 on metropoliscomics.com. I bought it using time payments and received the book in early 2007. Just days after receiving the book, I noticed a board member (FFB, but HouseofComics.com was there too) post a thread about Craig Flessel. I responded, and he graciously invited me to come along with them to Mr. Flessel's house. Only one problem. I lived in Los Angeles and they were meeting in San Francisco, and I had no car. Thankfully, my father offered to drive me up and wait for me (he would pass away just months later), so this book has always had a special meaning to me. Anyways, after meeting up, we all took one vehicle up into Marin County and went to Mr. Flessel's house. We met him and his wife. Since one of the men joining us (I don't remember his name) was a CGC Sig Series employee, we had the opportunity of getting our books officially signed and encapsulated, while also getting to hang out with Mr. Flessel and see his work and hear stories about the books we had brought.

This is officially the oldest signed book in the world. There are only 9 non-restored books on the census with a better grade. There is a Detective #10 also signed by Craig, but that's the closest officially signed book. Thankfully, Craig's signature placement is perfect for me. It doesn't stand out too much or take away from the book itself. I'd rather sell these books here than ebay, so I'm going to leave these books up for about a week, maybe two. If I don't get any acceptable offers, I'll move the books to ebay.

Detective Comics #72 CGC 6.0 Sig Series signed by Jerry Robinson.

 

Again, I bought this book raw off metropoliscomics.com, except no time payments this time. I responded to a thread from board member SignatureSelect who was getting books signed at a convention that Jerry Robinson was at before he passed away. There are 12 copies CGC'd that are a higher grade. One of the oldest Jerry Robinson signed books. The yellow cover always looks great with a Sig Series banner above it.

Yeah, I was able to find a book from the mid-1910's that was found with a signature, but no way to confirm if it was real or not. I figure there's probably a few earlier, but not CGC'd.
