Anything by Kim Deitch, Dan Clowes, Jim Woodring. I just got "Lost in the Fun Zone" by Leif Goldberg, which is great. Though I have a feeling that stuff is not what most here are looking for.

everything by Clowes is top notch EXCEPT "Wilson"

wut a dud

Just read Torso by Brian Bendis and Marc Andreyko.  It is fantastic.  Genius, even.  I have a mixed reaction to Bendis' later mainstream work (some great, some not-so-great), but, this 1998-99 effort was just superb.

Art School Confidential is Clowes at his most evil and funny at the same time.

The movie was exactly what I experienced in art school.  After 2 semesters of that nonsense, I moved over to the other end of the campus and majored in biology/chemistry.
