Hey guys the book has rust on the staples so it can't be higher than a 3... anyway but if you look at the face on the book it appears someone traced it? ill upload a picture of a book I have with no tracing vs the traced book. I'm not sure how tracing with a pen or marker affects a grade so if you can let me know that would be great thank you.

Rust on staples is no problem in the VG range, unless it's really corroded with transfer to the pages. The ink tracings are actually fairly subtle. I'd think it's right on the edge of 3.5/4.0 and pretty nice overall... I'll say it squeaks out the 4.0 unless the rust or ink are worse in hand.

I will upload a picture of the rust so you can tell me what you think

Thanks! so your saying books with minimal rust like this can be a 4.0 but if you have a lot of rust then the best is like a 3 right?

Rust is like creasing or anything else, it's just one more flaw to bake into the grade. I've seen otherwise nice books with surface rust on staples grade up to 7.0 or so. In VG range though it will make pretty minimal difference to the grade.

Yep, if the rust were more severe it could drag the grade down much further... it can stain the interior pages, and affect the structure such that the cover gets weak and starts detaching at the staples.
