Hey boardies...

Received this book a couple weeks ago, I noticed the damage once it arrived ... After it arrived, I reviewed the pics on eBay saw that it was visible there as well. I didn't notice it when I purchased it, so it's my own fault in the end. I'm wondering if this was caused during encapsulation or is a result of something else like SCS?  If it happened during encapsulation (pretty sure it wasn't but a guy can hope) was it equated into the grade?

Thanks

It looks like ink printing defect as if it was a scrape you would see it thru the R.  Or maybe my eyes just cant see it?

I don't believe that it was done in encapsulation... otherwise there'd be no tear

Yeah my concern was the tear... The printing error doesn't bother me but that tear eats at the OCD.

Are you saying in your opinion the tear was there before it was encapsulated?

This was most likely caused by something or other-

I'm not positive but it's in line with the other defects for 8.5... just imo

Looks like the right edge overhang suffered SCS to me.(shrug)

Staples seem to be intact, unless it was tapped back down?

Other defects that would drop it to at least an 8.0-9.0 ( from front scan only) in my opinion without the overhang problem. Still a nice presenting book. (thumbsu

There won’t be any staple issues if the whole book shifted.

To much space between the encapsulated area for just a book shift, and yes the staples would pull at that point. 😔
