Geektopia comic-con, Vancouver, BC Sat. July 6, 2019 Parq Casino 1 1

Anyone going to this brand new Geektopia convention in downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada at the Parq Casino's Harbour Convention Center 760 Pacific Blvd.? Promoter is hoping it will be an exciting event with cosplay contest. 6' vendor's table still available at $350. Admission at the door $40 for Sat. July 6, 2019 billed as a 'comic convention.' So far, I know of 1 comic back issue vendor selling there. Best of luck,  and we will see if Vancouver can support another Fan Expo type show. More info: Parq Casino convention

Wish I could go there but the timing isn’t good for me. I do hope their inaugural show go well.

Will you be prepping to vend at HH con instead? I hope Geektopia con promoter will break even and then try to grow the show for year 2.

No, I will not be able do that. I have my new suite to focus with prepping for move-in and that took up all my time this summer.

Hmm, $40 a ticket seems a bit much for what they have on the guest list.  Probably past for this year.  Like you said, I do hope they can grow from this.

Did not see any Geekfest flyers at GA Collectables, Taz, Hourglass Comics, Imperial Hobbies, Comics Scene  or Big Pete's but latter is in the middle of moving his shop so in disarray.
