In the old days (and I'm not even here that long, only ten years now) it wasn't bullying as much as it was just that most of the heavy posters were very well versed in what they were talking about, and weren't really going to pause to let newbs get up to speed. You just sorta had to dive in.

Of course, there was at least one actual bully, probably a couple. But they're not here anymore, thankfully.

Shaming others for being green. Cool.

You're on a public street, your photo can be taken and is. Existing case law already supports that. If I take you're picture and sell it for a million bucks, you're entitled to nothing. Get your camera and go for it.

you might be able to get away with it in certain cases but to avoid any potential issues as you were specific about a professional camera and your taking someone's picture and reporting or posting it on a public media platform. if you take a picture of the wrong person you can get a lawsuit potential or some legislation to remove the image from a public media platform etc.. As someone could argue that you were stalking them and say he had a professional camera not like you said oh hey there's someone let me pull out my camera phone but you had a intention to use a professional camera to photograph a person. Why??? you would argue its for fun.. judge might not think that as why not use a camera phone everyone has one no a days but that your using a pro camera for a specific purpose and your also posting it (report about it) on a public media platform without permission it could seem like your doing it in a negative way, stalking a person, etc..

My point is nothing might come of it but why take that chance and get slapped with a lawsuit and legal fee's etc....

I'm sure you're a nice guy but you're incorrect in your first two sentences so I stopped reading. Can you get beaten up because you took someone's picture? Of course. (Why do you think I'm trying to send TwoPiece out there?) Can someone sue you for taking their picture or sue you for any reason they can dream up? Of course. Will they win in court? No.

And I stopped reading after that.

Fair enough. I wanted to only point that it was a bad idea, but I missed that was your point.

People are able to learn more, and have more fun now, then back then. Tolerance is a good thing 👍

The board is as intolerant as it have ever been. What has changed is not the how, but the what. Things tolerated 10-15 years ago are absolutely forbidden now, and things not tolerated then are celebrated now.

Is it better? Worse? I guess it depends on what one will tolerate...

Hey get this TwoPiece - You know what my wife has been nagging me to do? She wants me to try to purchase the sign atop the oldest pornographic theater in Los Angeles. Really. So I've gotta go down there to this grimy porn theater and try to get these guys to understand I want to buy the sign. I kinda gave it a look-see about a week ago and these poor guys from India (?) can't conceive of why I want to buy the sign. Honestly, it's just so weird. You hear all the moaning from inside the theater and I'm yelling through holes in bullet-proof glass, "NO! I KNOW THERE IS SIGN ALREADY THERE! I WANT TO BUY IT FROM YOU!"

But I love my wife, so off I go to try again.

If this story is true - you're both insane and are obviously meant for each other...

Some examples would be great, but it would bring debate so meh No Worries then....

I seem to remember the old boards causing a lot of people to become defensive and have their feelings hurt...... for those who have empathy whether warranted or not, it was a much harsher environment....

I'm just thankful the new boards has easier upload capabilities :whee: I got a few pics up before the updated boards, but it wasn't easy being cheesy! :foryou:

You want an example...? Debate is a great one. Debates were allowed to go long, sometimes get really nasty (without participants being sanctioned), and weren't insta-locked (and certainly not reported) at the first sign of any "contention."

Oh, man, I would only have like, 7 warning points under those rules instead of seemingly hundreds!

Lol when I joined in late 2016, that definitely seemed the case ha. It was hard to study at school when there was always some contention.

I think a lot of those feelings carried over even though they nip it in the bud now ... :foryou:

Lot of good people here (including you) ^^

I like the frivolity now, but sometimes has the same consequence unfortunately
