Ralph Byrd is probably most recognized as Detective Tracy in the films Morgan Conway also played the part.  I recently saw one of his movies (titled d...  Tracy) on cable and it was pretty good.  I think he also starred in the DT vs. Cueball movie.

And a Whitman Penny Book from 1938 - put the quarter to show the size.  I love these and not very expensive but hard to find in high grade.  I have several with titles like Little Orphan Annie, Freckles, Don Winslow, Snuffy Smith, Highway Patrol, Junior G-Men, etc.

While we are on the subject of kid shows, I thought I would mention Chief Halftown who appeared in the Philadelphia area.  My daughter used to enjoy the show because the kids from the area appeared on it every week.

Chief Traynor Ora Halftown was a full-blooded Native American from the Seneca tribe in upstate New York.

The Chief Halftown program aired from 1951 until 1999, a remarkable 48-year run on WFIL (now WPVI) Channel 6.
