When was the last time you really saw his 90's work? This honestly is a pretty big improvement. Of course, when your baseline is so low, a vast improvement means you're still not even mediocre, but it is what it is, sadly.

Obviously, this guy did not read Major X Disaster.  One of the worst written books I've ever read.

I bought the first one, because A. didn't want to miss out on a possible new popular character and B. curious.  Read it, sold it, and never looked at any other issues.
