Is this the comic book writer?

Also worked in TV and films.

You may be right.  He is the right age

It seems that the classifieds in this issue are mostly WANTED ads.

FOR SALE ads are 1/4 and 1/2 page ads found in the rest of the issue...... which I'll get to in due course

Albert SWINDLE.  Now there's a guy I want to send my old comics off to  hm

Always interesting to me WHERE people are in the world (or were)

This classified is from 1972 and the humble city of Weiser Idaho had some comic fans.

How did they get connected to TBG in those days? And it was only the 13th issue.

Living in New York, Chicago, Edmonton or Los Angeles only meant you probably had a comic store or two close enough to drive to.

Comic book distribution must have been everywhere.

You should not be allowed to make us all feel so old and heart-achingly nostalgic about the past. Curses (and kudos!)

Maybe The History Channel will give me a call. I'd be happy to assist with old TBG information

Thanks for posting this. Brings back a lot of memories. Taught me something that is severely lacking today. Personal communication and patience. Luck has always played into it as well. Grand memories.

Did you ever run an ad in TBG Robot Man ?  Maybe I'll come across it

Back then A-1 shape must have been considered a viable grade

In truth, this lot could possibly have a lot of really expensive books in it.

I'd say these are most likely several hundred Four Colors

Albert Swindle Junior Senormac. Old Pa Swindle was the one to watch. And don't even mention his brother Connor (or Con as they called him). Personally, I'd have changed my name if I was Junior; Dave Swindle :)

Even Alan Light sold in the classifieds

I wonder if he paid the fee hm

I would've thought so. I hear he was a shining example.

Maybe he got a bright idea from those coverless books he was selling.  hm

Maybe. At least he didn't try to keep anyone in the dark about it.

I had a few ads for a brief period circa '79-'80.  It was fun running to the mailbox everyday

and get letters hopefully with  $5 or $10 in them.   At the time I was saving for

an X-Men 1.  Someday, I will hunt down one of those ads and see what I was selling. :preach:

I'll keep an eye out Jim.  Unless you sold under some other name. You'll have to PM me.

You too Robot Man.  PM me what name you sold under if you're interested in me keeping a look out for them.
