Except for this:

There is a sharp piece of plastic debris under the encapsulation. It doesn't move making me think it isn't a going to damage the book but it is driving my comic book based OCD up the wall.

If this were your book would you get it re-slabbed?

I definitely would, it is like a mental pebble in your shoe.  But then again I am pretty OCD.  Seems to me  there is no guarantee the plastic piece will not scuff the paper\back cover.

I've got a pile of books with slabs that need to be reholdered, with that slab I'm pretty sure that the book is in Mylar, if the shrapnel doesn't move it probably wouldn't scratch or dent the book being in mylar...

Yes reslab eventually, I'd his out till you have a cost effective bunch concerning shipping etc to make it worth your wild

Hope that helps :)

Would you say 3 years is long enough?

right about 2 years 5 months-it HAPPENS

lol it's been 3 years since the new slabs, so I'm thinking the op might want to think about that....

BUT I'm willing to guestimate that it's fine :wishluck:

Lol yes get It reholdered though

If there is no "damage" to the case and happened during the slab process, it makes me wonder if there are somehow shards of broken slabs near the machine....

Loving the responses :roflmao:

It looks like a piece of mylar when I get up on it. So it's quite flat but quite sharp.

Irrational fear of losing items in the mail along with not wanting to wait months to get it back are keeping me from pulling the trigger on the Re-Slab. As stated by other posters it's already been this way for years as it is an old slab with no visible damage ... Yet. I'm sure I will kick myself if it does.

On the bright side, it wasn't a used bandaid or piece of big mac pickle.:nyah:

I had a long squiggly hair in one...

I've since deleted the pic, but it's in a thread here abouts

That should never have left CGCs quality control.. I’d call or message someone from CGC with those pictures, and see if it would be taken care of on their dime?

Best of luck @Lurker89 🤞

Geez,  and I thought I was OCD . That piece is not gonna hurt the comic book,  so why bother.2c
