I also think 4000£ for this collection is too much. Maybe if it would be ASM 100-700 and there were no missing issues, everything Fine+ to NM, all us versions.
Then maybe someone rich who just  had a idea to collect ASM would buy those thinking so now I have ASM 100-700 and I just have to buy ASM 1-99.
Btw. I would remove "Value on ComicBookRealm.com is $13,475.07" from your eBay listing. Someone who is thinking of buying 4000£ collection already has an idea
what is worth.

No there aren't, especially not in the grades you have listed. Books that could even be considered as "key" in this collection are:

#25 VG 4.0 1st Mary Jane Watson (in shadows)
#78 VG+ 4.5
#102 F/VF 7.0 Origin of Morbius The Living Vampire
#210 VF/NM 9.0
#212 NM+ 9.6
#238 VF 8.0 1st Appearance of The Hobgoblin
#252 NM 9.4 1st black suit in regular series
#300 NM 9.4 1st Full Appearance of Venom

and even those are not in grade and a real stretch (I love me some ASM 210 but it is a wildly speculative book). You don't have 39, 40, 50, 100, 101, 121, 122, 129, 135, 149, 194, 361, any of the annuals, etc. etc.

If you get $3,500 in cash money (3100 pounds) for these books well done

Well I think you're wrong. Key does not mean Valuable. According to key collector there are quite a number of 'keys' here. Certainly if Madame Web is a key then there are many more that are too.

Not sure why the grade matters? Is a 0.5 AF#15 suddenly not a key? Just because its a dishrag?

And is #299 not a key because it's a cameo appearance? What about Hulk #180?

I will agree some of these are an almighty stretch!

#21 G 2.0  2nd appearance of the Beetle

Anyway, my buyer got cold feet, can't say I'm surprised. But whatever, I'm still sure I'll sell them.

Put your knives away will you? If my price is optimistic so be it, I want to get paid for them, I'm not interested in giving them away for a pittance to a dealer. Seems some of you can't get over that.

It's a nice lot, obviously you can ask what you want, trouble is, as many have said, a lot of the big keys are not there. Now I know you said you're not bothered by selling to dealers, (who need to make usually at least 50%) trouble is, when you have them in big lots like this, it's more appealing to dealers than collectors, a collector of Spideys will have a lot of them already.

Then you have to take into account, the comic market is different now to what it was 20 years ago, I don't think there's as many people out there collecting runs as back in the day, people want either key issues for speculating, or they want very high grade copies of certain issues. To get your most, you most probably should list all the older ones in 99p auctions, no reserve and then put the more recent ones in lots of 30 or so, I think you'd make a bit doing it this way, as sometimes people get caught up in the heat of the moment and don't like to be outbid and ASM's would do alright like this. Plus you have scans already, so not to hard (apart form all the posting afterwards).

Good luck what ever you do ;-)

But you came to the group and ask for our opinions and have completely disregarded the answer people gave you.  If you went to your friends and asked if you should break up with your girlfriend and they all said yes and you didn't they would be irritated with you for wasting their time. You are free to do what ever you want with your comics but don't get an attitude with us for telling you over and over again you are asking too much for a sale. People will continue to flake out on the sale because you are asking a flake out price.

Also I would not grade my books so precise. So rather than having ASM 315 9,8 I would write NM or 9,2 or better. How do you know it is 9.8 and not 9.6?
ASM 315 NM is 10$ but CGC 9.8 is like 60$ and for a good reason cos someone has gambled and paid 30$ to get it graded.

Nobody is telling you to sell them for a pittance to a dealer, we're saying that nobody in their right mind and with the slightest understanding of the market will pay your asking price, even if they somehow actually want the majority of the books for their personal collection, which nobody will.

But I thought the Key Collector app was great? meh

Obviously, you can cut out ~2/3 of those, but there are some actual keys there.

I'm not sure about keys - but there are nice books. That being said, his price is insane.

Well I think you're wrong. Key does not mean Valuable. According to key collector there are quite a number of 'keys' here. Certainly if Madame Web is a key then there are many more that are too.

Key may not mean valuable, but you were asking if the price was too high.  There may be tons of ‘keys’ in the collection.  There aren’t many valuable comics.

You asked the Boards in the title of your thread whether you were asking too much.  It shouldn't be that much of a surprise to you if some responders think that you are.  I'm in that camp as well, as >$14/book may be achievable or even less than what you'd average if you sold all 300+ books individually, but lacks the deep discount necessary for selling the entire large lot to a single buyer.  In my opinion, of course.
