Great Crandall decapitation cover, Crandall art, Torchy story. Horror content. This title was rolling on all cylinders at this point! Another real underrated title.

Has a little water damage at top. A few small edge tears and tiny creases. Tight spine with book and centerfold bound well to covers. Slightly yellowed supple pages. Solid copy.

WAS $65.

NOW $75. Yeah, like the stock market, stuff goes up as well as down. It was pointed out to me that this was low and I agree. Fantastic book and I should be keeping it...

1957 Capt. Midnight Manual and Decoder.  Manual is excellent condition but was folded in half a long time ago. No color break. Decoder is missing the small red tip on end but works well. Tough to find together!

The Adventures of Superman Collecting. Deluxe slip covered edition with foil Superman logo on front. Lavish 1995 limited edition put out by Russ Cochran. #2293 out of 2500 copies produced. 215 full color pages covering everything Superman. Contributors were the most serious collectors at the time such as Danny Fuchs, Harry Matesky and others. Stuff you just didn't know existed starting at the birth of the character. This is a must have book for the DC or Superman collector. Long out of print and excellent condition.

Has a tip off top right corner. A large piece off back cover. Small, light circular stain in center. Just minor wear otherwise with nice supple interior paper and well bound to covers.

Dennis the Menace #42 May 1960

Classic and impossible to find "Fish in the Face" cover! Everybody knows about the classic LB Cole Criminals on the Run issue. But those of us who seek out there don't have a lot of other choices. There are only a small hand full of these esoteric covers (maybe 5). This is one of them. Has a fish in the face story inside as well. Such a cheap and worthless book, that no dealer would bother with it. Buy this one or look forever for another.

Nice, flat, tight, bright copy. Smooth tight spine with book and centerfold tight to covers. No missing pieces, tears or creases. Has some light minor spotting but a decent copy.

$50.

No drop on this one. To weird and hard to find. Am real surprised it is still here actually.

By the way, are you getting the title of this thread yet? I'm not here you dazzle you with the big pretty books. Rick and others do a far better job than I do. All I can deliver is affordable cheap surprises for the common man this time. Just stuff I bumped into that was unusual, cheap or cool.

Yeah - I've got a couple copies of Dennis the Menace 42, the keeper right now being 7.0/7.5.

The fish in the face proper collection is comprised of:
Blue Bolt v9 #5, Criminals on the Run 7, Dennis the Menace 42, 4Most 4, Paul Terry's Comics 122, Swing with Scooter 18.  Of course, these are just the ones I'm aware of.  Some standouts I've got in my collection are the MH 9.4 of the Blue Bolt, and an 8.5 of the Criminals on the Run, and the Savanah 9.8 of the Scooter.

I've got a fish in the face peripheral list going of Alvin 24, WDC&S 98, Popular Comics 39, Cookie 48, Binky 60, Woody Woodpecker 44 & 131, A Date with Judy 19, Whiz 138.  These don't have the real face slapping action, but fish kissing, crustaceans latched on to tender parts, and that sort of perversion.  I think there is a Magic Comics too that somebody turned me onto, and I bought, but I can't locate the issue #...., my bad inventory control once again.

These "themed" collections are pretty interesting to collect.  I've also got a "Men on My Mantle" collection, of stuffed or severed heads, usually displayed on the fireplace mantle or on the wall.  I've located about eight of those, but I'm sure there are many more, depending on how you define the collection.

And of course, my parachute cover collection - the number of these parachute-covered comics seems pretty endless.  Hundreds and hundreds, if not a thousand.

Technically I think this qualifies as a "Fish in the Ear" cover. (Which, to be fair, is an even harder set to put together.)
