The Cap 27 has been listed on eBay a couple of times before so I'm suspecting at least a return due to discovering the book was incomplete.

I sent word to the seller the book should be 64 interior pages and the listing should state that it's incomplete.  No response and no changes to the listing...which shows the game the seller is playing.

I couldn't tell anything from the pics so I shied away as I said but it never ceases to amaze how some sellers play games with their listings.  Here is one for Cap 27

The cover is one of the great one but the seller never outright states the book is incomplete.  I sent a message saying the book should have 68 pgs counting the covers so I assume it is incomplete.  The response I got back was a simple, one word - Yes.

Maybe anyone bidding one this book knows it has 68 and not 59 pgs.  That seems like a lot of pages missing to me.  Since I am not a Timely expert but know this is a very desirable cover, what is reasonable for it to sell for?

So this book has sold for $300.00, $1800.00 and currently is around 1k all in little more than a month? :whatthe:

That’s just crazy...:screwy:

I avoided the obvious single book auctions since many look to be water damaged and possibly have brittle page quality. I did win one of the crazy group ones. It looked to be a decent Baker book mixed among rubbishy 60's Charltons. I swear this has got to be the first and last time in my lifetime that I will see a Teen-Age Romances 13 in the same lot with a Charlton David Cassidy lol.

So you got a TR 13 for $235?  Not bad...Hopefully it isn't missing pgs...

I was the "winner" of the $300 BIN linked above. The seller immediately refunded my payment, without explanation or apology.  :censored:

Are sellers allowed to pull and re-list books every time they don’t like the price they get on eBay?

Seems like a bad policy on eBays part with customer confidence.

The Cap 27 is up again for auction - at least the seller does now note it is incomplete in the description - I guess after multiple returns and not being able to pass it off as complete (my assumption), he is trying reality.

As a reminder this is a different seller than what is in the title of this thread - just did not want to start a new thread and probably not important enough to even bump this one. just found it interesting.

Yep. It looks like two different sales have gone bad on them...

I for one find it very interesting.  :cloud9:

It's sad that there is such an overwhelming demand for fresh-to-market GA books that we collectively buy into a feeding frenzy this sketchy. That sellers fall bass-ackwards into estates and clean-outs featuring comics they know nothing about, do everything they can to discourage bidders, and then still get good money for their auctions leaves me feeling a little dirty.  ???

I just looked at the feedback as a seller and there are only five - all more than a year ago but they are all positive.

Two items currently for sale - the Cap and a pair of women's bikini panties.

I hope you negged them. I do it every time now on principle when a seller cancels an order without a very convincing explanation. Happens way too often to me.
