Would cleaning and press improve this? 0

I've never sent in a comic for pressing and cleaning, so hopefully someone can assist before I send this off and spend the money...

Recently picked this up and I am hoping that a cleaning will remove the writing in the top left corner on the front cover. I believe it is pen but I am not sure. I spent more than I should have ($40 CAD), but it was on hand and I love the cover art. 

Would a cleaning remove the writing?

I would expect ink can't be removed from a cover without also removing at least some of the cover ink underneath it.  And it would require an organic solvent over a dry cleaning.

dry cleaning will only be able to help remove pencil but its not a sure thing always.

Even if the writing were pencil, it is over an area that has colored inks. Any attempt to remove it via dry cleaning would rub off some of the ink, resulting in a much lower grade compared to leaving it as is. 

Solvent cleaning, if detected, would result in a conserved or restored grade. 

A pressing may freshen it up, but leave the writing alone.

That writing is so unobtrusive it wouldn't affect the grade unless it was above a 9.8, IMO...

Thanks for the great feedback! I will send it in for a press and grading and let you know how it came out. Given I my attraction to the art of the cover and not so much the value, I reckon this will stay in my budding collection. You guys are awesome!
