I suspect that legal attention to the functioning of this 'charity' may be the last thing that the head of it would wish for.

Would be interested to see the names and disbursement amounts he has provided to single mothers.  Might be a long time coming for that list to materialize

Has there been any confirmation that money from this so-called charity has actually been received by any of the intended single mothers.  Names and how much has been disbursed?  Where could anyone find this information out?

There are more hits on web search engines that can be attributed to CGC forum speculation concerning the legitimacy of the Berkbridge Foundation than of the workings, the functions, the recipients of assistance, etc., the details of the Berkbridge Foundation! What does that reinforce? What we already know? hm

I have read thru this thread and seen the previous.

Just out of curiosity I started looking them up to see any feedback and such and came across the address.  When I started looking at that address as far as back as 1998 multiple revoked companies let alone right now there is multiple services and companies listed out of that address.

This is the guy that tried to scam me and come to my house and purchase my collection.  His name is Robert Jalali.  He said he had $25,000 that he could spend per year on comics and write off against his company car America Financial Inc. In California.  I believe the address was 2995 Shasta Road.  I filed a complaint through IC3 and paypal was able to honor my claim that he switched out my high hrade Conan's amd kept a few of them including a 9.8 Conan 24 which he sold a while back on his eBay account.  A few months later he started this bogus foundation on EBay. I assume he is money laundering via Car America Financial Inc which is the company he owns.  Avoid this guy

Is this the man that came to your house?

My thoughts on the subject.

According to LinkedIn: here are some of Robert Jalali's credentials:

https://www.linkedin.com/in/robert-jalali-35030226

It's impressive. And his business credentials appear to be equally impressive. Seems so odd that an accomplished Renaissance man, adept and respected in many academic and business-academia fields would be involved in anything so questionable; with so many loose ends to come unraveled. Seems like if he decided to go rogue, he'd be more exacting and careful about those loose ends. .

How? Why? Would someone with these type of credentials and more, find the time to make house calls for comics? And then do what's been reported. Switching out books and stealing others?

Now there are younger Jalalis, a Mostafa Jalali (or Mustafa) listed in Houston at the same address with Robert. Judging by Mustafa's pictures, if the right pictures for the right man, he appears tobe in the age range expected for a 62 year old father to have as a son.

Food for thought.

Bosma business center's current tenants:

I don't see a Berkbridge Foundaion mentioned anywhere on that list.

The sign outside doesn't mention a Berkbridge either, among all the tenants shown on that sign listed in the link above.

It's probably merely a mailing box. You'll likely find many businesses registered to that same address. I wager you'll find Nevada is favourable for taxation purposes, thus Berkbridge is registered there. They have to have a physical presence there, thus rent a location, usually just a mailbox through a specialised company. That's enough to count legally.

Can someone please help me on a dumb posting issue? I tried using BBCode and failed miserably. I want to post my full email exchange, but it's rather long, so want a collapsible format. Is there something I can use, like an Expand command? If so, what is it? Cheers.

I love a good subpoena.  I would file it where I metaphorically put the last one... sent to Staten Island.
