Just wondering if a miscut or miswrapped comic affects value ?  Either in a good way or bad.

That depends. Effect grade? No

value is a personal preference.

I don't understand why miscuts/miswraps wouldn't affect grade in a negative way. They certainly decrease the aesthetic appeal and thus the overall desirability of the comic.

Miscut/Miswrapped are "Bindery Defects" and there is no "Black and White" answer to your question.

The overall condition of the book and the severity of the defect all play a part in overall grade.

Up to and including VG/FN 5.0 - An accumulation of bindery/printing defects is allowed.

FN 6.0 -Some accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed.

FN/VF 7.0 - A small accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed

VF 8.0 - NM- 9.2 - A limited accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed.

NM 9.4 - MT 9.9 Subtle bindery/printing defects are allowed. 

Gem MT 10.0 - Only the slightest bindery or printing defects are allowed.

The only thing that really matters is "Do You Like the Book"???
