According to the seller it’s in great condition because the yellowing is consistent with its age, and so they argued that it’s a well-preserved example of this book.

Sure.

If only I had a reprint of Youngblood #1....the world could be my oyster!

Yup.  As a comic from a quarter of a century ago I would only be interested in it if it had yellowing pages befitting its vintage, and only if it's a superior Youngblood Masterpieces copy.  Otherwise, shove it.

Granted, it is not their "responsibility" but wouldn't it be helpful if cgc put "reprint" or some such thing in the note area?   Do they think that everyone would know because there are no credits listed?

That's a very good observation. CGC does put "reprint" on the label for books that are exact replicas of the original (such as the Golden Records Reprints). But on books like the Fantasy Masterpieces shown above, they don't put any art or key comments because it is a reprint. A bit of a Catch-22...

is that because the title is different so its not really a exact cover reprint more of a retold in another series?

Right, it says "fantasy masterpieces"... Very different than those reprints that came out a few years ago that many people have been scammed with.

With that said, the auction written description is just flat out wrong and the buyer would have every reason to back out, except it seems like he wasn't the only one duped (unless the seller just shilled him up)
