Okay.Looked to me like the bags may be causing some drag,so if the books shift it could cause some stress.

so,maybe should i put htem straightfolded and more tight in the box?

I don't know what you mean straightfolded, but I prefer a bit of room myself. It only took one time of books falling forward and getting bent from being too snug for me to change it up.I find if the boards are the right size, they should provide protection on the sides.Just a personal preference.

Pictures would help.

The Mylar is much thicker than the poly bags. Perhaps the fluff is merely the thicker material bowing out slightly?

I just picked up a modern in a standard sized Mylar and the bag doesn't lie completely against the fullback. It isn't meant to be air tight. You'll have a bit of a wrinkle and that's actually a good thing.

As far as the damage to your books...I don't understand, unless you've mishandled them, stored them haphazardly, or used bags that are too small.

(shrug)

If,when I have room,I'll fill in with some trades,or my extra bags and boards so it's snug.Others may do the same or have another solution.I have a pile of collections ect I keep for when this happens,or store it tall side up if you're comfortable with that?
