A professional PH neutral chemical wash will lift soot and reduce staining of your covers. Should still be able to get u a blue label CGC. Restoration is pieces added, trimming, color touch.

Depending on the type of "cleaning", it would garner a Conserved or Restored label.

The chemical wash you suggest would likely give the comic a Conserved/gray label.

Main advantage of PH neutral chemical wash is the magic tape on spine could be lifted else tape adhesive would eat away at AF #15.

FWIW, I had an Avengers 4 CGC 9.4 PLOD... with notes: "cover cleaned". I did get it regraded/classified to Conserved... but just saying. :)

This will garner a conserved label. Once dipped in a liquid the sizing on the paper changes and CGC can tell. There is no way to reverse it. If you've ever held a book which has been cleaned in this way it is pretty obvious.

Just to be clear, as a Simpsons aficionado, I DO understand where this comes from. :roflmao:
