How does that upper staple bend/crease and worn bottom spine corner warrant a 9.6?

Re the Invaders #1. Anyone else think that lower right corner ding might have happened after grading, during the slabbing process?

Just so you guys know, I was expecting a CGC 3.0 or maybe 3.5 on that All-American.  Never would have dreamed it would be a 4.0 or better.

I went 3.0 and 9.6. The funny thing is I thought the 3.0 was a bull’s-eye and I wasn’t sure on the other book.
