3.0 woulda been the grade I'd have given, without the major spine roll, so I went 2.5.  How about you tell us when you're submitting books so we can also send our books in for a shot at the same gift grade party your books are getting?

I had 3.5 and 9.6 I thought with a press it was 9.6. 

The 3.5 I had at a 4.0 and changed at last minute.

I submit books to CGC every month. Just PM me if you’re serious.

No it is not an area of brown ink.  Thirdgreenham already stated that it was shaken comic syndrome damage.

If you look at an Invaders #1, without it, you will see that area is not brown.
