PICTORIAL LOVE STORIES #1 1.8 ow/w Detached cover with very rusty staples. Rust bleed on cover and on pages, about dime sized at centerfold. Some of the blue transferred onto the first page as well. The whole book was probably damp at one time, though there is no rippling.  $140 $125

1.5  pages slightly brittle at top left, with a 1" split on all pages, otherwise the pages are cr/ow

1&1/2" spine split at top, top staple cover detached, hole in cover where it was stapled. A number of small tears at spine thru book.

Good color.

Tanning halo interior covers.

Beyond the great cover, this is the best issue of the Johnny Dynamite series, starting with Johnny getting shot in the face and losing his eye, with violent stories involving drugs and prostitution. If you haven't read any of the Johnny Dynamite series you really should. It's easily the best private eye series of the era.

There is some paint splatter and a couple holes in a two sided text page, and a big semi-circular chunk out roughly 5" x 3" of another int. page effecting artwork on both sides.

Also name written a couple of times in the margin of the first splash.

HAUNTED THRILLS #9

Qualified 4.0 ow/w

Married cover. Spine splits.

Classic cover.

Tough to grade. Sold to me as a file copy with a married cover. It looks stunning, except it has some spine splitting. A bottom split going to just below the bottom staple, and a 1" split at top. Staples are secure. I'm not sure if this was one of those "File copy" situations where an unused cover was married to a coverless book, but the interior is in perfect condition. Cover is not a "proof", as it is printed on both sides.  Metro called it a 5.5, though I think that's too generous considering the spine splits, but you'll have a hard time finding better eye appeal in any grade.
