Are batman damned 10.0 values low due to high # of 10.0s?

There was a joke running in another thread that the low grades would sell for higher as they are rare. Even that some might crack out their 10's and purposely damage and regrade..:roflmao:

I wonder how CGC decided to just exempt batman damned from their purposeful campaign to withhold the 10.0 grades...  hm

It does seem this easy for Batman Damnedlol

But not for much else

Maybe the book was graded in inches

The reason it is "easy" for Batman Damned is because the book is classified as a magazine. Magazines are not graded to the same standards as regular comic books.

If it was a regular comic book, it would not be part of the discussion, since it would fall under the normal procedure for regular comic books.

That ought not be ignored, or we're not comparing like to like.

This makes alot of sense considering the price is so low on them...and probably the price being so low is the vast amount of them too...

What about standards when it comes to different ages/eras?..would a regular comic from silver age be graded to different standards than a modern age?

What about Notti & Nyce then?

It was pretty low on the list of total. It was higher for Grim Fairy  Tales , Lady Death , and several Aspen Titles( God is Dead), Crossed 100 , Spider - Man 1 , Turner Fathom.

It sinks the ship of the theory that CGC purposely withholds 10.0s.  What possible reason would they withhold for all titles except these?

Sure, it's just normal supply and demand.

This is all educated conjecture, because CGC doesn't explain their standards...nor could they, and stay in business for very long...but it is generally accepted that the older the book, the more lenient the grading. A 9.8 1962 Marvel can be (and usually is) quite a bit softer than a 9.8 1992 Marvel. How do we know? Looking at lots and lots and lots of examples.

Also keep in mind that experience plays a large role in this. If you'd like to know about particle physics, do you talk to Kip Thorne...or the stereotypical Cliff Clavin know-it-all, who's never actually done anything they're "expert" at? If you want to know how CGC grades...you talk to the people with experience submitting thousands of books, the Bob Storms, the @MrBedrocks...not the people who have only submitted a handful of comics, or who have never submitted anything at all. That's an important distinction. The more, and more often, you submit, the better you are to be able to identify what CGC sees and how they see it.
