gino2paulus2 5,428 posts Posted October 18 This is a great thread idea bro and I am blown away by some of the multiples here it is quite astonishing really. I have personally yet to keep two copies (on purpose) of anything but I love seeing 2 especially of tough books side by side!! I have several more than this somewhere in my old photos but here are a few I was able to dig up quick. Off the top of my head Boy Comics 10, Banner Comics 4 and Prize 43 (still have both), Speed 28, and All-American 61 come to mind of books I have owned 2 copies of at the same time and photographed gotta find those. I almost always sold the second. 12 batman_fan, szav, GreatCaesarsGhost and 9 others reacted to this
EC ed 6,746 posts Posted October 19 Great books, guys!! I probably have over 100 EC undercopies in my boxes that I haven't gotten around to selling yet, which means I could to a "multiple copy" post about 100 times or so . I'll spare you that and only post up some of the more choice dups where it actually makes me feel good to have multiple copies ... 5 Raze, batman_fan, Larryw7 and 2 others reacted to this

catman76 536 posts Posted October 19 This is a thing I don't understand and a reason I hate being called a collector. What does anyone need more than one copy of a comic for? Especially five or ten or twenty? This is some hoarding just for the sake of it thing or some weird, greedy competition thing more than anything else seems to me. 2 PopKulture and D84 reacted to this

The Four Color 402 I posted is very much the exception for me. There, it's fairly simple: the "Sniffles chewed" copy has developed sentimental value, the middle one is my actual reading copy, and the high grade one is a rare case of me wanting a high grade showpiece book. If somebody actually asked me about it, I would probably let the middle copy go and use the chewed copy as my reading copy, but I'm not likely to go look for a buyer. Besides, having all three is a neat history of my hunt for the book. I assume others have similar reasons on some books, and a lot of people here are at least occasion dealers as well, so holding multiples for speculative purposes can easily overlap with liking a book on its own merits. 2 PopKulture and MusterMark reacted to this

Of course, there was that one time... I ended up keeping just one of these copies, but in retrospect kinda wish I'd kept both. Cat-Man_America 9,753 posts Posted October 19 (edited) There are these two copies of WSF #25, a 7.5 signed 45 years ago by the late great Al Williamson... And this recently acquired GFC (9.4)... (it's doubtful I'd choose to part with either copy) Edited October 19 by Cat-Man_America 4 Larryw7, gino2paulus2, OtherEric and 1 other reacted to this
