looks to be from December 1941 (Feb 1942 cover dated) based on most of the books here. . I can see some holdovers from the previous round of books like Superman 14 and Mystic 7 mixed in.

Howdy gang! I’m at the airport, en route to meet a client in Massachusetts. I’m Director of Comics for PBA Galleries Auctioneers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and my client may have original art to consign to my February sale. But apparently he also has a small stash of vintage comic-related snapshots! Here’s hoping he’ll sell ‘em to me for my archives!

Actually to me it looks like the collage artist did know and was trying to recreate the background with real rocks.

These are for member David, who posted incredible pix of himself and his pals circa 1967 with Marvel-Atlas back issues. It got me thinking about those early days before comic shops, and how kids found old comics...
