Saw these two pages in the middle of Groovy magazine 1968.

The Hulk's Favorites.  WHY?   How bizarre.

Groovy is a gag mag that has nothing to do with the MCU.  It's not a parody mag like "Not Brand ECHH".

It just seems weird to throw the Hulk into the mag.

Hulk would facepalm if he saw these.

It's funny.  

Most buyers of the three issues of Groovy published by Marvel in '68 were regular Marvel readers.  Hence the inside joke (or, if that's your take, an attempt at one).

Probably not as strange as the Teen Hulk series that would run in Crazy magazine a few years later. Hulk was always destined for Marvels humor mags it seems since he actually got his own series by his Crazy run instead of just a few gag joke panels...

It actually was s series for a bit in the mag. Not a one off...

 

Looks like his preview was in Crazy #59 and the series ran from #60-94 if the site I used is accurate. Remember this was during the Hulk tv series original run too.

Hulk and Wonder Woman both got above average attention in their 1970’s tv runs. Spider-Man and Supes both had series or movies too but they were already company flagships.
