I think Todds arm will fall off once he has finished signing all the books over two days.

I'm glad that we subbed when we did! CGC doesn't say specifically when the Todd signing is, only to have the books in by Dec 9th. I'm sure it won't be too long after that though.

BUT at 3 week TAT for non-pressed and 6 week TAT pressed, it shouldn't eat into too much time or concern with our subs taking longer :wishluck:

went down from 25 business days to 22 on modern slow-track :)

I'm thinking CGC will be very very busy after the 11th of December until the new year

Have questions I haven’t seen asked yet, will the post-office ship with the “TM” written on all sides of the box?

Thought the only writting permitted when shipping were the addresses.

And, does cgc accept money orders, cashier checks or electronic payments for direct submissions?

Thanks!

I didn't have any problems with the post office, CGC received mine ok.

CGC takes credit cards and checks.

I hope the Todd MacFarlane signings work well for everyone.

Did anyone see if we could request a certain color of signature by Todd?

I know starlin the artist has a severe allergic to silver markers...

That's a good question

I don't know how it works with comics, but with sports memorabilia the signature should be on the number or logo and it should match the color of jersey, for instance blue jersey, blue Sharpee. Generally the number or logo offsets the jersey color.

I guess with books it would probably what comes out the best

I know someone asked that earlier on, but I don't think they were ever answered.... I'll check :)

Does anyone know if the normal discounts apply for this? (dealer discount)

Confirmed that this is a no. The all inclusive price for this signing is what everyone pays. It's not too bad considering Todd's sig fee, CCG grading fee, fast track etc.

I got my AMS 300 pressed & graded this past spring & came back a 9.2.  Now I want to send this same book back & get Todd to sign it.

Since I was happy with the 9.2 grade and would like to get the same grade, is it overkill to think about getting it pressed again (and save $20)?  I'm concerned the people handling my book after CGC cracks the case will cause the grade to decrease.

Also, is it not good to get a comic pressed multiple times, especially in a relatively short amount of time?

Just Because CGC Sent Out A New Email, I'm Posting The Email In Case It Contains New Info :)

For the first time in nearly two years, Todd McFarlane will be signing comics from his career to be graded by CGC, including the Spawn 300 anniversary issue and the Guinness World Record breaking Spawn 301.

Customers will submit their books directly to CGC, creating the most efficient way of getting comics signed. Todd will sign all books at the CGC facility. The signing fee of $89 per item will include an expedited turnaround time on the grading process.

Books need to be at CGC no later than December 9th, 2019.

More information and submission instructions are below.

The signing fee will be $89 per item with an additional $20 fee for CCS pressing. Submissions for grading will have a 3 week turnaround time. Submissions that include CCS pressing will have a 6 week turnaround time.

For this exclusive signing event, you can mail submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits.

  • Download the Private Signing submission form at www.cgccomics.com/PrivateSigning.
  • COMPLETELY fill out the entire form.
  • Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels. Please group them together on their own private signing form separate from non-custom labels. To see the available labels, click here.
  • PUT ALL BOOKS IN WINDOW BAGS OR THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • Carefully package books in a box for shipment.
  • Please write TM on all sides of the box.
  • Books will be received into the system when they arrive. They will be safely stored until signed.
  • Once books are signed they will start the CGC grading process.

PLEASE NOTE:

Todd will sign any comics or magazines he penciled, inked, wrote or contributed to (i.e. Wizard #1). He will also sign any books with characters he created (i.e. Spawn and Venom) regardless of whether he received any creative credit in the book. Todd will not sign any parody or homage covers that include artwork or characters he did not help create.

About Todd McFarlane: Legendary Artist, Spawn Creator and Venom Co-Creator; CEO McFarlane Toys and President Image Comics.

In 2019, McFarlane’s Spawn made history with the release of the historic Spawn #300, and Spawn #301 has earned the Guinness World Records title for longest-running creator-owned superhero comic book series in the world! The road to McFarlane’s history-making comic run began in 1992 when he co-founded Image Comics and the release of Spawn #1, the top-selling creator-owned comic of all-time with more than 1.7 million issues sold. The comic became an Emmy Award-winning animated series on HBO and a live-action feature film that grossed $100 million. McFarlane became a true comic book superstar for his record-setting work on Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man franchise, where he co-created Marvel’s top villain Venom. After garnishing prominent success in the comic industry, McFarlane founded the international award-winning McFarlane Toys – now one of America’s top action figure manufacturers.

Apologies if someone asked this but I have 5 books I want to send in.  2 of them I want to get pressed.  Based on how the submission form is set up it appears that you have to submit two separate order forms based on their instructions. One for the books you want pressed and one for the non-pressing books.  Is this correct?

Ugh I wanna do this so bad. So many things to buy these days :ohnoez:

Wonder when the next chance for sig will be...I usually prefer getting sigs in person...

Please anyone correct me on this if I am wrong - but I heard Todd does not do grading/witness signings at conventions.  He will sign raw books at conventions - but not for grading.  Again I may be wrong on this (maybe its a comic urban myth) but I have heard it more than once from different people.

This is true. Todd does not allow grading/witinessing at conventions. Only private signings can get a yellow label.

Just buy an existing signed book. This sig opp is one of the highest charges I’ve ever seen for McFarlane.

Think if you ask ccs, they’ll say of course you should get it pressed again. Personally, I find better pressing elsewhere.
