Grades came in and I am pretty happy (16 of 17 9.8 WP). Included were Marvel Tales #235-239. I know they are "reprint" covers, but they they look so cool.... and there is Spider-Ham!

I love the Marvel Tales covers. I sent in 227, 234-235. Cover 234 is badass, plus it guest stars Morbius!

His entire run of MT is very tough in 9.8. Made during the "wavy" era at Marvel, they were reprints, and so hated by collectors of the day (as you know!)

Tough, tough, tough. A complete 9.8 run from #223-#239 SS is a master feat!

My eventual McFarlane 9.8 SS goal:

Coyote #11-14

All-Star Squadron #47

Infinity Inc. #14-#37, Annual #1

Detective #576-578

Hulk #330-346

Invasion! #1-2

ASM #298-325, 328

Marvel Tales #223-239

Hulk #6

Marvel Year In Review 1989

Quasar #14

Conan #241

Spiderman #1-14, 16

Wizard Magazine #1, #1 SDCC

Spawn #1-16, 21-24, 50, 100, 150, 185, 200

Cyberforce #8

That's not too ambitious, is it...? Anything I missed from his first 10 years?

I've been waiting for this for many, many years. Refused to deal with the "middle men."

Wish I'd done this 10 years ago, but what can you do?

Cool, I didn't realize he did Conan!

He did that one cover (Conan had "hot artists" do the covers from #240-250), and if you can believe it, it actually sold out when it came out...I scrambled to the newsstand to pick up copies.

Still have 'em!

Ok - that’s way too sick!!!  I am so jealous of your ASM 316.  I don’t think I’ll ever have a chance to own a book that cool.  The Conan issue just pushes it over the top.   I think I’d have to change my will to stipulate that they be buried with me.   Makes me feel even worse about the pathetic 9.4 I got on the run of the mill SM 1 I submitted.  😖

Just check the Census. Not too many graded in general let alone 9.8's.  I'm a little surprise that more are not graded.  Low print run maybe or not too many people know about it like me?

Yeah, Conan sales were in the tank at that time. In fact...it may be the rarest Marvel book that McFarlane ever did.

Cap City orders for the book were 11,800.

That's when Cap City orders of Spiderman #7 were 180,700...same month.
