Bill is working on a few new features. One feature is you can only add an entry from your regular CAF galleries (just like Featured Gallery). Any entries MUST HAVE BEEN posted to the CAF Galleries prior to midnight December 31st. No exceptions

Best of will start January 4th for entries and voting on the 13th


Best of 2019 Published and Unpublished (happens at the same time)
You will have up to 5 entries and they can be in any of the 7 categories:
Published Covers (Unpublished covers as well)
Published Splashes, Pin-Ups
Published Interior Panel pages
Published Strip Art
Published/Unpublished Commissions (work artist drawn outside of conventions)
Unpublished Sketch Covers/Convention Sketches (artwork drawn at conventions)
Published/Unpublished Other (all Published/Unpublished material which doesn’t fall into the other 6 categories (drawings, prelims, Style Guides, Rock Poster art, illustrations. etc.))


Best Published Acquisitions of 2019.
This theme lists each participating member's best acquisition of 2019 that has appeared or is/was scheduled to appear or created to appear in a comic book or comic book related publication. This category includes all published material, unpublished covers, and similar items.

Best Unpublished Acquisitions of 2019.
This theme lists each participating member's best acquisition of 2019 that has not appeared and is not scheduled to appear in a comic book or comic book related publication. This category includes all unpublished material (except unpublished covers and pages), drawings, prelims, Style Guides. sketches commissions ect.

This is by definition contradictory, and often abused.   Or there needs to be a Donnely rule.  If you bought it from them it's not eligible. Because it's most certainly not the original cover, it's prelim, rejected cover, alternate cover, cover by another mother....

I leave it up to the owners to determine this. There are true unpublished covers that fall into this category. This Red Sonja #15 is one example which I picked up years ago. If someone sees a piece posted in the covers and it falls under the issue above, email me and I will look into it.

Sounds like a convenience for sure but what about art bought at the end of December that doesn't make it 'home' for proper scanning until early January - can you extend the end date until Jan 7 or so...if not, I'll live!

Sorry no extensions. This is a hardwired feature. Only art posted in 2019 can be entered in Best of. What you can do is post in 2019 with a lesser scan or pic then update the image in your CAF gallery in 2020.

Maybe this will be self-explanatory when it’s time to submit, but will I be able to submit the same panel page to both the “best interior panel page” AND “best published acquisition?” Which is to also say one can have a total of 7 entries—5 within the classic 7 categories and 2 in the Best Acquisition?

Excuse the ignorance. We simply upload images to Lowry gallery, by 12/31,  and then, on 1/1 can allocate to proper category for voting to commence on 1/4?

I am assuming that you just upload to your regular gallery, and when the contest starts you can pick among all your main gallery uploads in calendar year 2019 as your entries.

Upload to any of your regular CAF galleries, do NOT upload to the Lowry. When Best of 2019 starts you will select from any of the pieces in your CAF uploaded during 2019.
