Yep I saw that after I wrote my stuff. Are you sure that's right? Even at those prices just under 300K more seems like too much for a one grade bump. I'm still a little surprised the 6.0 sold with the 7.0 on the block. I suspect the new owner must think the 7.0 is going to really go sky high. 

6.0 = $613,500, 7.0 = $988,750  , 8.0 = $1,364,000

Remember, 6.5 is the dividing line for Detective 27. There are more universal 6.5s than any other grade in the census (6). There are only 7 copies graded 7.0 or higher (compared to 5 copies of Action 1 in 7.0 or higher).

Honestly, the expectation for a 7.0 is that is should go for a stronger multiple than the 6.0 because of the rarity in grade.

Are superhero books the only ones capable of the million dollar club? Is there another book (say horror, western, etc) that if ever found in high enough grade could possibly hit that mark? Or is that extremely unlikely?

Something like a Suspense Comics #3 or something even rarer....
