This conversation started in another thread but I thought it deserved one of its own - who are some artists you're into that other people might not know about? A few I discovered recently are

I'm waiting for Johnny Desjardins to take off. He's relegated to covers and commissions, not so much interior work. But I really like his style.

I collect only paintings. There are plenty of lesser known artists for what I buy but more recently I have been buying a lot of E.M. Gist’s work. He’s worked on comic stuff in the past but did some Marvel Flair trading cards this year and has been doing some Marvel covers. He just started as the cover artist for Conan. These are few pieces I picked up this year.

I am a huge fan of Paul Pelletier's work and pick up a lot of his artwork. (hint in case you have any of his Hulk related artwork you'd like to sell). He's not a newer artist and has been around a long time. I wouldn't call him lesser-known but, in my eyes, his work is under-appreciated by many. I discovered Alex Reigel this year and love his work.

Among the newer artists I loved loved Andreade's work on Cap Marvel.  Definitely different and yet classic.

On lesser known artists (at least lesser known today) I continue to be a big fan of ChrisCross but he does not seem to be interested in doing regular work.

I will add my vote for Peach Momoko and Chrissie Zuko; not to disrespect the others, just not too familiar with them.

While they may not qualify as new or lesser known, let me also add Dan Quintana and Jason Shawn Alexander to that list. 

Also, Ashley Witter has excellent skills (but don't care much for Squarriors).

I recently picked up an Aquaman cover of his (my first Pelletier piece).  Really presents well in person despite it being only his pencils.  This penciled cover was also published as a variant, which I think speaks well to his ability with graphite.  Good stuff and quite affordable.  He's now on my radar.

Absolutely. Paul's pages are rendered very strongly and is very finished in pencil form. Commissions as well. Have a link to the Aquaman cover? From the TDA sale?

Not from the sale, got it a few weeks prior.  It's from a run I really like of Aquaman with Geoff Johns.  Cover to #24 in the New 52 era.

Not sure if he's considered new enough or lesser-known enough, however,  really enjoying Jorge Fornes and will go out of my way to pick up his one-off fill in issues here and there

Some nice recommendations.

I always enjoy walking through Artist Alley at shows to see who the up and coming new talent is.  It's part of the reason I put up with the crowds at NYCC.
