I am a new member and I want to get 1 comic graded. If I pay for the membership is the grading free?

Paying for a membership gives you a credit which you can apply against grading/pressing fees.  Not sure if it also covers shipping fees back to you which can run $30-$70 for a single comic (USPS insured registered mail)   You can call CGC customer service and ask.  You won't get a refund for any money you leave in that credit .

The CGC credit that they offer for joining will be applied towards grading submissions... wouldn't really call it free. The price for grading depends upon the book that you're submitting. https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/cgc/

There are also choices for having the book shipped back... again, depends upon the book. UPS insures up to $50.... USPS will include insurance for the value that you supply to CGC when you fill out the on-line form.

Welcome aboard!!!  If you plan on possibly having more comics graded, then definitely get the membership.  Plus, there’s a huge knowledge base to learn from.

You might consider saying what the one book is and the condition you currently think it's in.
