The face on Calvin is classic.

Haha yeah it was made just for this HA moment.

Nice auction offerings but bidders did not throw money at the reserves today. All of this info means something. I’m trying to remember it’s about fun and the art.

you can’t help think about the future of this thing of ours though.

Now you'll only have to wait two months instead of three, for HA big-ticket OA auctions...more data points per year for you!

$312K hammer

John Romita Sr. Amazing Spider-Man #51 Cover

Just imagine what the price would've been if we weren't experiencing medical and financial turbulence at the moment!  :ohnoez:

Reserves have been triggered and there are some pretty high expectations on the part of the consignors:

Ditko ASM #32 pp 12-13: $228k

Frazetta "Swordsmen in the Sky": $180k (if someone is willing to pay this much for a Tier Z Frazetta piece, then there is clearly way too much money sloshing around the world today)

Kirby FF Annual #1 Hulk pin-up:  $180k

Steranko CA #111 pp 12-13:  $180k (this ended any interest I had in the piece)

I'm noticing a trend here. hm

So who thinks any of these reserves will be met, and which ones?

The answer was "none".

Is that the case ? Is HA officially expanding their offerings ?

I’m wondering what the impact will be. Reduced weekly auctions? More product in the pipeline? Impact on pricing?

isn't that special? :P

I guess sanity ruled the day

Not on everything. Look at the winning price for the Aparo Phantom Stranger cover—$19,000 plus buyer’s premium for a total of $22,800. It went for even more than the Adams Phantom Stranger— by a lot. Am I wrong to wonder about the price?
