Not on everything. Look at the winning price for the Aparo Phantom Stranger cover—$19,000 plus buyer’s premium for a total of $22,800. It went for even more than the Adams Phantom Stranger— by a lot. Am I wrong to wonder about the price?

Those Phantom Stranger covers were both well outside my discretionary comic spending budget. :tonofbricks:

The Adams’ cover went for around market, more or less, at $14,400 including BP. The Aparo cover is a different story. What the Hell?

Meanwhile a Kirby/Coletta Thor panel page went for something like $2100, not as much as I expected. But his FF pages with Sinnott went for way more. Guess I know which one I can maybe afford someday, and which I never will.

Well, that was a Thor panel page in name only...no Thor to be found. The final was $2772...plus tax/ship/excise/customs/convenience fee/inconvenience fee...etc....so $3100-3200 all in.

And it featured the unforgettable, iconic, landmark "Growing Man".

A much better Kirby/Coletta Thor page from 132 went for $9k, but I think it was more than 3 times better than the other page...so more of a "Show-er" than a "Grow-er".

That Dune Sienkiewicz  splash raised some eyebrows when it sold this summer for 17.5k. It just closed for 7.2k.

I wonder if the winner took a huge loss or if it was a return given the description change to indicate the piece has been mounted. Does HA do returns?

$20,400 hammer

(D) Drussila = 1

(DMV) = Donnelly Market Value
(DD) = 2(2500)=5000
(DMV) = (11320) or 2 to 3 times everyone else’s fair market value
(BP) 20 %

So 1 x 5000 + 11,320 = $16,320 x 20% = $20,400

Peanuts I was watching summary

Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Comic Strip Charlie Brown Original Art dated 7-1-54 -$15,600, Not the best strip but it is from 1954 which is pretty early, buyer did okay

Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Lucy and Linus Original Art dated 12-21-59 - $18,000, I liked this one a lot, my #2 pick.  I think the price was good for the buyer, the Christmas overtone is great.

Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Comic Strip Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty Original Art dated 6-1-71, $12,000.  I know Tim will slam me for this, but this was a great pickup for someone.  It has the classic PP/CB romance theme

Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Converted to Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-28-56, $31,200.  I had no idea how to value this one.  Cool piece but the coloring bothered me.  Maybe would have bothered me less id Linus was colored too.

Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Comic Strip Charlie Brown and Snoopy Original Art dated 5-8-60, $43,200.  Maybe the deal of the grouping, baseball theme, snoopy, what's not to love about it.  I know two Peanuts collectors discussing it ahead of the auction about the final price were certain it would go a lot higher.

Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Comic Strip Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty Original Art dated 5-4-75, $45,600.  Surprised by this one.  When I tried to get my wife to read it she said "way too many words, you read it to me"

Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Comic Strip Charlie Brown and Snoopy Original Art dated 1-13-91, $45,600.  Surprised on this one too but need to check my database, it could be one of the few Sundays sold from the late time period.

Larsen Spider-Man page.....$26,400.

Is that a record for an interior/panel page by him?

I wonder which Millennial Brat Packer bought this...it's a very short list of potential buyers at that price, like a half dozen usual suspects of which not every one is into Spidey, thus narrowing the field to probably 2 or 3 guys. hm

Just saw the final hammer on the Spiderman 72 cover.  Definitely an "affordable" cover especially if you are a huge Shocker fan.  I was out real early on it (before live bidding even).  I was focused on other stuff.  Congrats to the winner, awesome piece !
