inherited collection of 23 Classics Illustrated to sell

My siblings and I inherited 24 vintage/golden age comic books that we are seeking to liquidate.  These should be in the possession of someone who loves collecting golden age comics.  23 of the comic books are “Classics Illustrated” and one is “SuperDuck” issue No.25.

These are clearly used, most in fairly decent shape for their age (mid-late 1940’s to early 1950’s), but a couple are a bit tattered.  They have not been “graded” or appraised and I honestly don’t know how to find the ‘HRN’ Number associated with the comic books.

I’d love to assess what they are reasonably worth and find a loving new home for them.  Any suggestions welcome.  I live in San Francisco CA and there are a couple comic book stores here that I’ll check out, but before I did that I thought I’d write a note here and see what the experts have to say.

Check the list usually back cover of all the titles published at the time of your book’s publishing date. This is the HRN number. You should get an idea of value in the Overstreet Price Guide. Be sure to carefully read the grading standards CAREFULLY. To be honest most are worth very little unless first editions. Hope this helps.

Specifically HRN stands for ‘Highest Reorder Number’ and is the highest numbered comic that is listed on the reorder form which, as @Robot Man notes, is usually on the back cover.

None of the early numbers appear to first editions (you can tell by the logo), and the later ones aren't worth all that much in the condition shown, even if they are first editions. They are mostly in what would be referred to as "lower grade" due to the amount of creasing, chipping, and tearing evident. The two Sherlock Holmes ones might be worth $5 or $10, the rest probably $1-$3 apiece, and that includes the Super-Duck.
