I'm thinking it's about a 4.0-4.5 but would love some outside opinions. I'm not sure how big of a hit staple rust is but I'm hoping getting it into a proper bag and board will help prevent the rust from spreading. I overpaid a bit for it thanks to some blurry photos but I'm pretty happy with it. Thank you!

4.5, maybe just a bit too much rust and the crease by the lower staple, still I would not be surprised if it was graded a 5.0.

Your 4.0-4.5 seems correct. Not rough enough for a 3.5 IMO and not nice enough for 5.0

I'm going to say 3.0 or 3.5 on a good day. The rust, back cover tear, and back stain are going to hammer the grade. Also the spine is very soft.
