Hehe yea I think this was back around 2003 or 04. Used up practically my savings for it. Very risky lol, but it paid off!

It was an Ebay purchase and never purchased anything that expensive online in my life. I kept messaging the seller if and when it would arrive, how he would pack it, etc. Sure enough he messaged me back saying everything will be fine. After about 3 days the book arrived in a Diamond distributor box filled with newspaper. I was ecstatic and relieved. I've always wanted to own this book and it came true for me that day.

I knew there was a story!  that's awesome! 

I have a similar story with my "grail" at the time, IH #181 in 7.5 from Dale Roberts, while securely packed the slab did arrive damaged a bit. BUT Dale was more than accommodating for a reholder, despite my noobness on the matter. He was genuinely kind, even though I exhibited typical noobness lines or behavior, that I've since been like dang I don't know if would be THAT cool to someone new  eek!

I remember it like it was last month...because it was.

I started posting on here because I was debating if I should submit a pile of books that I wanted to entomb for preservation and display reasons and after seeing so many photos I decided that I liked the look with the cases and finally sprung for my X94 (And just shipped off my first pile to CGC today as well.)

I can't remember.  I know the first book I had graded but not the first CGC book I bought. Let me do some recall here.

I bought three that I needed for runs. A Captain Marvel #1 and X-men #141 & 142 from Rick AKA bubbagump all at the same time

I had a subscription to the X-men and Captain Marvel but the Captain Marvel started after the #1 of course so needed that one on the X-men I somehow had missed my renew notice and it just happened to be those two issues I missed until the subscription started back, was finally able to get them in the collection

Alpha Flight #1 CGC 9.6.  Purchased for $41 in 2014.

First book I had graded was X-Men #266.  It came back as a 9.2.

Batman 33,7.5. Bought it off eBay In 1999 right after CGC first opened and still have it.

Batman 189 cgc 7.5 in 2001 for $45.00 on eBay.  I shouldn't have sold that one.

Brave and the Bold # 85 CGC 9.6 in late 2014. I had been looking for a nice copy of this issue for awhile. Finding a high grade copy of this issue was much harder than I expected.
