Does Anyone Know eBay seller TRCA-80 ?

I ask because many of their art pieces listed are listed twice. Once as a no reserve auction and again as a BIN.

For example:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/392645499200

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bob-Layton-Original-cover-art-Solar-3-1st-Lady-Solar-BWS-Barry-Windsor-Smith/392417851903?hash=item5b5ded39ff:g:QngAAOSwdUxddY7P

I've never seen that "strategy" before. Does anyone know who the seller is or seen/bought from them before?

Ethics aside, is this strategy allowed by eBay?

eBay's rules tend to restrict or ban most duplicate listings of identical items but there are exceptions.

Seems like something that should be limited to items that are the same but not unique...like batteries, HDMI cables, or funko pop cases.

Doing this with truly one of a kind items makes me, as a potential buyer, uneasy.
If I bid on the no reserve auction and win at $500 and simultaneously someone hits the bin at $2,000, who gets the piece?

What if I am 3 seconds faster than the BIN?

Seems you would be at the mercy of the whims of the seller

seems like whomever is going to pay more LOL

which will lead to complaints, which will lead to an unstable situation... I see Chris' point.   This can't last.

Did you report it? I would think eBay is likely unaware of the duplicate listings.

Not yet. I was trying to figure out if there was some simple explanation for it that was eluding me, or if this was as problematic as it seemed.

I've seen the same Movie Poster original paintings being listed twice by the same seller in Europe.  One offering is higher than the other but the shipping charges are low.  The other listing gives a slightly lower price for the painting but the shipping charges are higher.  When you compare the total price per listing for the same painting being offered twice, the overall prices are exactly the same.

It would appear the hobby's collective "clever" has finally run out. #sadness

From the same seller, this one makes even less sense to me. A buy it now listing, and an auction listing with a buy it now option for $1200 less that the other listing.

I'm curious to see what happens to this guys listings once the auctions are over. The one I linked has no bids so I may never know on that one.

Can I sell you a recreation by Siegel of Action No. 1? It may not be real, but I think I can make the signature look pretty good.

As long as it's signed by (Roz) Kirby...I'm good to go, how much?
