Bought this off eBay for less than forty bucks (shipped) in auction and was wondering what the grade could be as is.  It has a miswrap and looks like it could use a bit of pressing from the look of it.

Thoughts on if this was a good investment and what it might grade at?

Are those moisture marks around the bottom of the back cover, or just dirt?

I'll find out when it arrives in a couple of days.  The auction claimed the biggest issue was the miswrap and made no claim of moisture.
The back was my main concern grade wise.  But should be worth it as long as there is no moisture damage present.

Don't "invest" in comics. 7.0ish IMO.

Invest can mean different things to different people.
Anyone who has a collection has invested in comics. Speculation is different. Don't speculate on comics or you'll more than likely get burned.

There is some browning on the back..dirt or stain it is hard to tell without better pictures. As is, I am calling it 6.0. If cleaning can help the back, possibly a 7.0. I wouldnt press and dislike when people do to try and even up a cover wrap. It was made that way, just leave it.

Now in hand.
It does look like it would benefit from a good press (not for the miswrap) and cleaning.  The back stain is slight in person, so it could be removed with cleaning.

Looks like a combination of dirt and foxing. Even with a dry cleaning, the foxing will remain. CGC will hammer that amount of foxing.

EBay has an 8.0 for $85.00 BIN. Your $40 plus shipping, dry cleaning and pressing costs, grading and shipping will put this book way above that threshold. That's if it gets an 8.0, which will all depend how much foxing and other defects the book has.

'I don't mind offering suggestions when I see bad ideas' would be a more accurate assessment.

Don't invest..?  Surely comics are one of the safest bets out there..?
