Christ here we go with the haters making a big deal out of nothing again. If you don't like them... how about don't buy them? No one is forcing them on you. And "cash grab"? Yeah how dare CGC, a for profit business, do something that might bring in some extra revenue. The capitalist pigs!!! Look at it this way, they can do this or raise prices on slabbing. At least this is optional and you don't have to pay for it if it's not your thing. Obviously there are people out there that actually like this gimmick and are willing to pay for it.

What gets some customers bothered may not be cgc finding ways to profit. That's great more power to them it's the American way! It could be the fact that customers are sending in submissions then getting back slabs full of unsightly Newton rings obscuring everything. I think people just want the basics like encapsulation handled correctly first and foremost. What's the point of having a really cool label if your book looks like is has oil slicks on it?

You could say well then don't submit books and that's fine that's a legitimate argument! Problem is people in this hobby have to think about market value and the other graders don't command what cgc does on the open market :( at least at this point 2c

DC just isn't into gimmicks as much as Money is.....correction  I mean as much as Marvel is

It looks like they are coming around, having ratio variants and all. But Ive never seen DC labels announced on CGC

Hopefully they never do DC labels the sooner CGC stops selling out like a gimmick cash grab the better.

Some say the artwork of the label "complements" the artwork of the cover.

But I think it looks ridiculous.

Like embedding a miniature replica of a Rembrandt painting into the frame that holds a real Rembrandt painting. Just looks dumb.
