No one is forcing them on you. And "cash grab"? Yeah how dare CGC, a for profit business, do something that might bring in some extra revenue. The capitalist pigs!!! Look at it this way, they can do this or raise prices on slabbing. At least this is optional and you don't have to pay for it if it's not your thing. I like the idea of the Marvel, DC (or other) labels, mostly because CGC can make some bonus money which hopefully keeps them from raising the prices on other services that I actually care about. And ACTUALLY, if I was in charge of this type of stuff, I think it'd be cool to have limited edition slab labels released along side movie releases (aside from the normal standard stuff like Spidey, Wolverine, Deadpool, Batman, WW, Supes). It could be the fact that customers are sending in submissions then getting back slabs full of unsightly Newton rings obscuring everything. I think people just want the basics like encapsulation handled correctly first and foremost. What's the point of having a really cool label if your book looks like is has oil slicks on it? You could say well then don't submit books and that's fine that's a legitimate argument!
