CGC Grade 0.4?!
1 1

The .4 is clearly a labeling error. Labeling errors are not common - and not rare.  Getting the numeric grade wrong is I believe a rare mistake though.

CGC had a special deal going with Wizard long ago where they did some 9.5's of their books. It was some sort of (dumb IMHO) promotion. Those are not mistakes. Just oddities.

Here is a quote from Wikipedia from the CGC entry

Wizard First (red and white) No longer in use, originally used by CGC/Wizard magazine as a new type of slabbed collectible. Only three grades were given to comics submitted by Wizard directly to CGC: 9.0, 9.5, and 10.0. This is the only time CGC has ever used the grade "9.5".

Recently came across a Facebook post with a picture of a CGC grade of 0.4. To my knowledge this has never been a legitimate grade on standard grading scales. So I decided to look up the serial number on CGC's website and sure enough, it states that it is a grade of 0.4. Thinking maybe something had changed, I checked the CGC grading scale on their website and 0.5 is the lowest grade that they claim to apply. Additionally the case appears to be the current case that CGC is using and was graded only a month ago, 31 Jan 2020.

Is there something that I am missing? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I would sell it in a closed listing over eBay to a friend just to get that registered with GPA.

What, for "kidnaped"? They talked about that in the letter's page...it's a legitimate way to spell it.

I always read it as "kid-nāped"

He is right... https://www.dictionary.com/browse/kidnaped
