It's the first time superman used X-ray vision and some argue it's the first WWII cover.  It came out in April 1939, so technically the war hadn't started yet. But tension were high in Europe and Japan was already engaged in war. 

 

I always thought this issue was underrated.  Only 31 unrestored copies on the census.  It should get more love.

I agree. 

I'm happy to say I sold my copy to another collector who is going to complete his copy. 

I'm sad to see it go, but happy it's being put back together. A really cool book and I think if superman was on the cover it would get allot more love.
