In CA, any gathering of over 250 people is being forced to shut down for at least the next 30 days. I suspect probably longer. EVERYTHING. The promoters won't have any choice. Kind of Socialism but I don't care. Some times, something has to be done to protect us from our selves.

You don’t have an online presence?

better that you get infected and transmit to your family?

This is not Ebola, are you misinformed.

I am very optimistic that the State ( whoever that is ) does not have the ability to shut down small gatherings.

If they did, Mall and large shopping centers would have to close as well, the economic cost would be substantial.

Not to mention Church, Synagogue, Weddings and other religious gatherings, really doubt we live in that society yet.

Schools in the province of Ontario will have to close for an additional two weeks, on top of March break, which begins next week

From 2009:

Swine flu has caused nearly 10,000 deaths in the United States, part of an outbreak that has infected about 50 million Americans,
government health officials said Thursday. The deaths as of mid-November included about 1,100 children and 7,500 younger adults,
said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

From 2020:

As of March 2, a total of 88,913 cases of COVID-19 have been reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) -
and 90% of those are in China, mostly in one province.
In China, a total of 2,912 people have died, whereas outside China, there have been 127 deaths, among 8,739 cases in 61 countries.

Why did we not over react to Swine Flu?

This smells to me like a Politically motivated panic.

I can’t answer that.  No one can

Children are NOT immune.  Not sure where you’re getting your information from, but that is unequivocally false.

Prove it! Only .02% children even get it that's 2/10000th's

One of the few mercies of the spreading coronavirus is that it leaves young children virtually untouched — a mystery virologists say may hold vital clues as to how the virus works

I think the numbers for the virus as a whole are still in the early stages. You aren't seeing as many young kids because most people don't put their young kids near severely sick people.

That being said, today Ontario (Canada) confirmed its first case of an infant (less than 1) with the virus. Again, only one in North America to my knowledge but it proves they can get it and I pray to whatever ruling power that he makes a full recovery.
