According to Heritage Auction, "This piece was printed in the 2008 The Hellboy Companion by Dark Horse." Does that book contain a piece that looks like this?

It contains a full figure piece which looks similar but is not the same piece of art

So Heritage Auction's description is inaccurate; the image in question is not in the book in question. Hope the buyer has recourse. And hope the seller didn't know the description was inaccurate.

I would also look into the consignor. You can easily see it's copied. Look at the details.

Just an update.

To address a few issues.

The consignor is a major EU dealer who attended the Lake Como show which Mignola also attended. We have never had an issue with him over the years. 

As many of you are aware, we take in may consignments at the deadline. This one slipped through.

Mike immediately, confirmed that this is not authentic
