Does anyone display their books? 4 4

Wondering if anyone displays their GA beauties on a shelf, table, or whatever? Are the books in slabs safe, or will long term exposure to light (bulbs, NOT sun) fade them? A friend of mine recently put some of his up on a bookshelf under LED lights, and it looks really cool.

I'd like to, but i need to get accurately informed about preventive faded cover/colors measures.

Every now and then i'll display about two books for two to three days in my man cave, but that's about it.

My biggest concern is how to prevent guard bats in my man cave from infecting books with coronavirus.

I deliberate about this all the time because I am almost always displaying my books. At the very least I keep a row of 5 or 6 across the top of my dresser. To protect them from light I flip them around to face the wall before work in the morning (If they’re slabbed I cover the backs with a backing board). In the evening I flip them back back around for more viewing. It’s like a crazy ritual and they’re religious icons or something. They’re just so cool I feel good having them around. I know light exposure is a risk, I’ve even thought about printing color copies and putting them in Mylar bags to fool myself and save the real ones from light damage but it wouldn’t be the same. Their presence or soul wouldn’t be there. 

Am I worried about light damage? The room does not get direct sunlight, as in no sunbeams travel directly from the sun straight through the window then crash directly into my books, But sunlight does filter in indirectly. And there’s usually only a single light bulb on at night.  I guess the rewards out weigh the risks. Gotta enjoy it while you got it.

I don't"t display my books. Artificial light will cause fading; fluorescent bulbs are worse than incandescent bulbs.

I believe it’s been several years since I’ve seen pictures of your comic room @eccomic.  I have to say, it’s one of my favorites.  Just stunning.

Sure do but do not leave the lights on in the room all the time and have black out curtains over the windows.  I use Comicmounts to have them mounted on the wall. Have everything ranging from GA to modern (over 30+ slabs) on my walls.

I do also. Room used as home office (getting much more use lately) No sun comes in the room and usually lights are not on much. I use frames and switch them out frequently.

I keep a nice looking FF 48 in a previously cracked case on my coffee table. People who don't know.comics often ask, and those that do know flip out. It presents well, but has a lot of internal water damage and is missing the centerfold. It makes a great conversation piece/ coaster.

I setup some displays in my closet. Then all I have to do is close the door when I'm done.

Awesome pix and ideas! I looked up those comic mounts, great product. Add to them the slab pro UV protectors and they should be fairly safe.

For comics and other paper stuff, I use this. I often change it out when I'm tired of looking at stuff. I have a bunch of holiday GA covers and I set up displays depending on the holiday. I really should take some shots when I do but usually forget.

Love seeing so much raw!  Personally I don't display my slabs, although they are some of my "best" books, I just don't like the way they look. That said, I'm going to check out those mounts...
