I posted this in the SA Forum.

We live in a time when information moves as fast as light and people's attention spans and reactions are highly exaggerated because of it.

Markets swing with force and ferocity and in a wider range than anyone expects.

Zooming out the lens offers perspective and the further out you zoom the more perspective you have. Zooming in to today's news offers very little perspective.

Some people will either panic sell or sell because they feel they need to. Others will hold and some I know are buying like crazy now.

Seems crazy to be buying right now....

Sometimes that's the best time to buy. (shrug)

The general public panics and some people will money start buying.

It's how the free markets have been working since time began and it's how some people become wealthy.

I get it.  But who’s to say a major price correction isn’t coming?  Market has been hyper-inflated for years.

I'm not commenting on whether it is or it isn't, but I didn't expect the stock market to climb for 12 years straight either after what was supposed to be the worst economic crash in 80 years.

Corrections have happened for 70 years in comics, people just forget them. AF #15 has corrected several times in the last 20 years. GA was dead for a while. Do you remember when Sterling was collecting BA horror and they were the hottest thing on the planet?

All I'm saying is that things look much worse when you're hyper focused on a moment and pulling back your perspective over a few decades and things take on a different shape.

I think you tend to be a 'glass half empty' guy naturally and I just think that human spirit will bounce the world back from this relatively quickly (or at least quicker than many people think possible).

There are going to be literally billions of people who are going to be dying to get back out there and doing stuff, whether it's working, spending or living their lives in whatever way.

Nicely put, Roy. :applause:

My wife's income is hit hard right now, so I'm not free to look for bargains on pricier books. I am hoping to do a bit of bottom-feeding on a small number of books that would normally run from $50 to $100. I'd love a large data set so we could draw meaningful conclusions. I would love to look for patterns at certain dollar thresholds, books that are weeks or months out from related cinematic releases, books that are usually evergreens such as GSX 1, and so on.

Great, you're back. Maybe this isn't the thread for you? Are you going to continue with the threats?

No threat was made.  Read what I said.   Now, comprehend it.

You started and you continue.

Knock your nonsense off.    You were initially wrong.  I was never replying to you in regards to my first comment.   You made a mistake.  Deal with it.

Do I really need to go full RMA and start quoting you to show you where you are wrong?

Just find another thread, yo. I've got enough to worry about. I'm not that interested in arguing with a cranky yankee.

You couldn't if you tried.   Like I said, my response was to Jolly's comments.   Keep at it though.   This is afternoon entertainment.

Kind of in the same boat..

My wife is a wedding photographer and they all just canceled or postponed.  At my job they cut our salaries to try an keep the company afloat and I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

Our generation is just used to things working out.   This situation is a first for us.  To think that it’s just a matter of time before things go back to “normal” is naive IMO.  We have absolutely no idea how this is going to turn out.

I'm in digital gaming, so we're seeing a bump like most other gaming outfits are. At least the ones operating profitable titles. We have one of the highest rated games with millions of downloads in its category on the Play Store. If not for that, I might be crapped out myself. My concern is that a lot of gamers are young, not working high-income jobs, and not working at all right now. How long their cash and credit holds out, we'll see.

There will be some fascinating case studies and books in the next five to ten years about this. But any intellectual interest in how this games out collapses pretty hard in the reality of the situation at the moment.

I agree with most of that but 'normal' is relative.

What I do know is that even in a crash there are still people making lots of money. This is where some people make ALL of their money.

Anyway, I don't think I'm naive. I do think that a rebound is inevitable just like a correction is inevitable, that's all I'm saying.

I am also in the "Gaming" industry but the adult kind..

No, not that kind of gaming.  The gambling Gaming.  We do slot machines, interactive slot machines etc. but I am in the Lottery division.  The problem is the casinos are closed so, no revenue from more then half the company.

So, buying funny books takes a back seat unless I can pick up a bargain.
