An appreciation thread for Dell Comics, who started off with The Funnies in 1929 and continued to publish comics after 1956. They eventually went defunct in 1974, with their longest-running series during their Golden Age years having been Four Color, Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories, and Walter Lantz New Funnies.

Speaking of which, I recently learned that “Dell comics are good comics” is apparently attributed to Dell President Helen Meyer. She was said to have also played a key role in Dell securing the Disney and Looney Tunes licenses.
